coz both of them can be wrong!!

you know many of the best muscians today were told they are crazy to think they can sell their music to earn money. well guess what Madonna is one of the richest musicans for this year

How do you think she made her fortune?

So go and make your mind numb by creating some music. you dont haver to sell it and beocme rich, its just a way of expressing your self.

If you are feeling a bit constipated it is really good to go listen to some tunes and the play them

Inter Personal Communication in Music

Saturday, January 12th, 2008

Music is usually a collective effort. You get together with a group of friends and swing some ideas and then some tunes into air and it starts to develop a rhythm and if things go well it gets liked by many people.

When you work with people from different walks of life, for example a part time bar tender who is a also a good drummer gets together with a exotic dancer who happens to be a  good bass guitarist and a doctor who loves to sing, you have one thing in common, your love for music, but you also have many things which are not so common at all. This where effective communication skills comes  to your rescue.

You can not be a loner and succeed in this industry. If you really want to succeed you will have to become friends with many  people, some of whom you may not even like. But hey, you are here to  because you love music, not because you hate someone, so do what it takes to get where you want to go.

Learning to get along with other people is really a gift. I am not talking about mixing up with gangbangers and gangsta bullies, unless you are one of them. No Sweat, I personally know some of the Record company’s execs who are  more toxic and harmful than my gansta friends.

Bottom line, Get good in your inter personal communication skills.  Learn to get along other people and you can reach your place of stars easily

Swaying to Music

Monday, January 7th, 2008

Music is more than a language, it is the language of languages“      David Tame in The Secret Power of Music.

Why would anyone consider Music to be the language of languages? and more importantly can you see and imagine this to be the case?

Before you answer this question take a moment and list atleast 3 songs that you love to dance for (or listen to) -with lyrics in a lanuage you do not understand.

 Mine are

1. Didi By khalid

2. Kaoma - Lambarda

3. Ojos Asi - Shakira

You see, even though the rational part of our mind cannot understand the lyrics, our reptilian brain sways to the music.

Have you ever wondered why?

Although songs may comprise of lyrics which tends to give a surface meaning or structure,  interlaced within  is the  background instruments -or the melody of the actual song- which gives the rhythm.  Our body and mind respond to this rhythm and Rhythm in itself  has its own structure. This structure is so powerful that it can make ones mind flow in its direction with ease. It has a magnetic effect which supercedes the interference of our logical mind and thus you will find even the most ratinal minds sway with ease to music, that is unless they are constipated with a parasysis called analysis

So what is the take away from this short piece?

If you have areas in life where you are currently feeling out of options or rigid, try thinking of them when you are immersed in good music. Lets say about half hour into music, you begin to lightly look at the solutions to the problems you are facing and suddenly solutiosn will come to you. It is imporant to keep yourself immersed in music and look at the porblem over your shoulder, as if it is an after thought.

That is the best and most resourceful state you can be in to solve the problem.

Go ahead and solve all your problems one by one, by swaying to music…….

The Musical Passions

Sunday, December 9th, 2007

Some people think music comes mainly via genes and the ones who don’t have music in their blood will find it hard to survive in the music industry. I don’t know about you guys but I think that it is a piece of bullshit. If you have musi in your genes how come so many successful artists have kids that can hardly understand a note?

Music requires above all, a Passion and Dedication. It is a field and industry where over night successes happen  only after years or dog toil. This is true for almost any industry  and more so with music. We all have our own passions but not many of monitorize on our own passions or in other words throw ourselves wildly at our passions and things that we really like to d. There are some people who start off  as a passion and then convert into an income producing source. Most of the bands that are famous now had a humble beginning. Just a couple of friends getting together to tune up their instruments and jam up. next thing you know they find it very interesting to write their own verse and jam it up, tune it cut it and perfect it. A few days later a couple of friends want to stop by and enjoy their music and then in next few months thy find themselves singing to large crowds. You never know where your passions will take it.

Only way to find out is to find out. Go out and see who els likes what you like. Jam up and think up crazy ideas together and do some things and see how it feels

Go Give it a  try

Music rules the Mind
